Description
Bringing Hope: Supporting Neonates in Crisis
This project seeks to raise donations and Zakat (obligatory Muslim charity) to finance the treatment of premature babies and neonates in critical condition at our NICU. The treatment costs range from Rs. 85,000 to Rs. 350,000 depending on the severity, placing a heavy burden on low-income families. With your support, we offer free life-saving treatment at the Al-Mustafa Hospital in Karachi.
The Challenge of Neonatal Mortality
Pakistan grapples with one of the highest neonatal mortality rates in the world, with 42 out of every 1,000 live births resulting in death within the first 28 days (UNICEF). Factors such as poor nutrition, lack of hygienic practices during labour, and insufficient NICU facilities in government hospitals contribute to this crisis. Many parents helplessly watch their infants struggle, unable to afford private NICU care.
Effective Solutions
Since 2004, Al-Mustafa has operated a well-equipped NICU at Al-Mustafa Hospital in Karachi, featuring state-of-the-art technology, including ventilators, incubators, LED phototherapy machines, and patient monitors. Our dedicated team of paediatric consultants, physicians, expert nurses, and technicians, provides round-the-clock intensive care.
Long-Term Impact on Health
This initiative aims to significantly reduce Pakistanu2019s neonatal mortality rate by delivering essential healthcare to families who might otherwise lose their children due to financial constraints. By ensuring timely treatment, we can prevent many complications and health issues in these infants, allowing them to thrive and lead healthier lives.
