By the grace of the Almighty, Al-Mustafa Welfare Society has established a strong reputation for its dedicated social and welfare activities, both within Pakistan and on an international scale. Our success is built upon the unwavering support of our donors, the hard work of our volunteers, and the commitment of our team. We focus primarily on health, education, and social services for low-income communities.

In addition to our routine welfare initiatives, Al-Mustafa has played a significant role during major national and international crises, including the 2005 earthquake, the floods of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the humanitarian efforts for Syrian, Burmese, and Palestinian refugees.

Chairman Al-Mustafa, Dr. (Haji) Muhammad Hanif Tayyab

A Dedicated Leader for Social Change

Dr. Haji Muhammad Hanif Tayyab, born on November 19, 1947, is a distinguished socio-political and religious figure in Pakistan, dedicated to social service since his youth.

Educational Background

Hailing from the Memon Community, he holds a Master’s in Islamic Studies from the University of Karachi and an LL.B. from the Federal Urdu University. The University of Karachi awarded him the honorary degree of D.Litt for his contributions to society.

National Recognition

In 2022, he received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan for his exceptional social services.

Public Service

Haji Sahib has significantly impacted Pakistan’s legislative landscape:

  • Councillor, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (1983-1987)
  • Member of the National Assembly (1975, 1977, 1985)
  • Federal Minister of Labour, Manpower, Petroleum, and Housing (1985-1988)

He is credited with establishing a Museum under the Tomb of Quaid-e-Azam and developing Bagh-e-Quaid-e-Azam.

Philanthropic Engagement

As Patron-in-Chief and Chairman of Al-Mustafa Welfare Society, founded in 1983, he oversees programs that serve 1.5 million people annually through:

  • 10 Hospitals and 35 Clinics
  • 16 Schools and 1 Girls’ College
  • 4 Shelter Homes and 47 Mosques

Disaster and Pandemic Relief

Al-Mustafa’s disaster relief efforts during the 2005 earthquake and the 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2022 floods were recognized nationwide, attracting visits from dignitaries, including Kofi Annan.

Polio Awareness Advocate

Haji Sahib passionately advocates for polio vaccination, engaging community leaders to address misinformation and promote immunization for children.

Our dedicated workforce, comprised of doctors, engineers, lawyers, business executives, and social advocates, stands united in our mission to provide essential services to low-income communities. Through our extensive network of branches, we offer vital programs in health, education, public awareness, livelihood support, orphan care, senior citizen assistance, and emergency relief.

Every day, Al-Mustafa makes a difference in the lives of thousands, operating medical centres, clinics, schools, orphanages, senior citizen homes, vocational training institutes, and skill development centres, all made possible by your generous support.

In times of crisis, Al-Mustafa is a beacon of hope. Whether responding to the devastating earthquakes of 2005 or the catastrophic floods of 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2022, we have consistently been at the forefront of disaster relief. During COVID-19, we provided food ration services during the lockdown, along with home PCR testing and free vaccination services. In the floods of 2022, we were among the first line of defenders, offering all kinds of rescue, relief, and rehabilitation services to 1.7 million flood victims across the country. Through the combined efforts of our dedicated workers, volunteers, and compassionate donors, we provide essential aid, including tents, food, medical supplies, temporary schooling, and shelter homes for those affected.
